Chartmetric: Features, Pricing & Who It Suits

Chartmetric is a music-data research platform. It is useful when the campaign decision depends on understanding an artist, market or trend across sources. It is not a promotion service that sends pitches or places songs.

Documentation-based profile, not a hands-on performance test. Workflow suggestions below are editorial analysis.

The current plan structure includes Manager, Premium and Ultra dashboard tiers, plus Flow AI options. Manager lists premium data for ten artists, while broader tiers provide wider research access. The pricing page also links to playlist, social, radio and audience research use cases.

Chartmetric pricing and what to budget

The standard annual-billing view displays Manager at $40/month equivalent, Premium at $117 and Ultra at $150. Regional and monthly-billing prices differ; use the checkout for your location. A limited free service is also linked. Do not substitute an older Artist-plan quotation for the current offering.

Evaluate the number of artists, historical coverage, exports and team access you need. A broader dataset is not automatically valuable if your weekly decisions only concern your own release.

Who it suits—and when to look elsewhere

Consider it for recurring artist research, campaign benchmarking or roster work. Start with a concrete question: which markets show relevant activity, what changed around a release, or which artists make a useful comparison group? If you only need your own listening data, begin with the dashboards available from the streaming services.

  • Different platforms measure different things; their counts cannot simply be added as unique fans.
  • An observed increase does not identify which marketing action caused it.
  • Coverage, data freshness and plan access should be checked for the artists and services that matter to you.

A practical evaluation workflow

  1. Define a question before opening a large dashboard.
  2. Choose a small, relevant comparison group rather than the biggest stars in the genre.
  3. Record the metric, source, time window and important release events.
  4. Write down the decision the evidence supports, including what remains uncertain.

Frequently asked questions

Will Chartmetric tell me exactly which ad caused a stream?

Do not assume cross-platform trend data provides person-level attribution. Use a clearly defined measurement setup and acknowledge gaps between clicks and listening.

Should a first-time artist pay for an industry database?

Only if there is a research task the available free dashboards cannot answer. Start with the decision and compare the value of the information with its cost.
