About Music Promo Tools: Ownership & Editorial Methodology
Music Promo Tools is a directory and resource library operated by the team behind Virtual Publicist. It helps independent artists and music teams understand the tools available for release promotion.
From the team behind Virtual Publicist, our featured product. Ownership & methodology.
Our relationship with Virtual Publicist
Virtual Publicist is our own product and receives featured placement. This site is not an independent third-party review of VP. Other products are included to explain the choices available to artists, including situations where a different product or a simple manual process may fit better.
Directory order is an editorial presentation choice. It is not a score, a measured market ranking, or a promise of campaign results. The side panels highlight products; they do not imply those companies paid for placement or endorsed this site.
How product information is prepared
- Identify the task a product is intended to help with.
- Consult the provider's published product and pricing pages.
- Separate published facts from our workflow suggestions.
- Link to sources so readers can check the current terms.
- Label information that has not been confirmed rather than filling gaps with estimates.
This first edition contains product overviews, not hands-on performance scores. We do not claim every listing has been tested. A checked date refers only to the fields explicitly sourced on that page.
Pricing and dates
A free plan, free trial, per-submission charge, and monthly subscription are not interchangeable. Where verified, we explain the unit and important restrictions. Taxes, geography, billing choices, and account-specific offers can change a final price. Use the provider's checkout as the final source.
“Check provider” means we have not verified a current price for that listing. A dash in the starting-year field means the founding or product-launch year has not been confirmed. We do not treat the two dates as automatically identical.
What we do not promise
Tools can support research, preparation, delivery, or measurement. They cannot establish in advance that a specific journalist will cover your song or a curator will add it. We do not publish invented testimonials, campaign outcomes, or user activity as evidence.
Template emails
When you submit the press-release resource form, we save your email address, the resource requested, the submission time, and whether you selected the optional marketing checkbox. The address is not displayed publicly. The form provides a download on the page; it does not send an email.
Only choose the optional checkbox if you want occasional music promotion tips and Virtual Publicist updates from our team. Leaving it unchecked does not prevent your download. Submitted addresses are not verified by this form; a request is not evidence of ownership of an email address.
To request removal or ask about your information, contact the team through Virtual Publicist support (sign-in required) and identify the email used. Limited, short-lived hashed network information is used to help reduce automated submissions.
Corrections and updates
If a product detail looks outdated, verify it against the linked official source before making a purchase. You can send a correction to the team through Virtual Publicist's support page (sign-in required); include this directory's page URL, the field, and a source supporting the correction.
